Chapter 7. Real-time Movement
YOU CAN CREATE a broad spectrum of multiplayer game types in Flash—card games, trivia games, and some games that show real-time movement of player-controlled game objects (such as racing games, shooters, or virtual worlds), to name a few. I conducted a casual poll of my colleagues, asking what kind of multiplayer games they would like to build if given the chance. They mostly said shooters, fighting games, racing games, RPGs (role playing games), and even real-time strategy games. To pull off any of these well, and provide a fun experience, all of these game types require real-time movement of one or more game objects.
