Your Flash movie will be running entirely on the client; that is, everything that happens in Flash happens on your user's computer. In a simple Flash movie, all the information required by the movie needs to be imported into the FLA and thus included in the SWF. Although this is certainly the simplest approach, it has some limitations, the most important of which is that any time the data needs to change, you have to republish and re-upload your SWF. Fortunately, Flash movies have the capability, thanks to ActionScript, to communicate back to the Web server at runtime and access additional information, provided that the information being returned to the SWF is in the correct format.
