Configuring Site Links and Intersite Replication
You use site links to connect two or more sites for the purpose of replication. When you install Active Directory in a new forest, a new site link called the DEFAULTIPSITELINK is created in the IP container for the first default site. You can separately create any additional links that are needed. You create and manage site links by using the Active Directory Sites And Services console.
