Managing Printer Objects
A third group of objects in Active Directory consists of printer objects. You can create a printer object by publishing the printer in Active Directory. When you publish a printer in Active Directory, a printer object is created that stores printer attributes such as printer location, but also printer features such as printing speed, color printing capabilities, and other printer-specific functionality. The primary reason for publishing printer objects in Active Directory is to make it easier for users to locate and connect to network printers.
