Search Engines
Let's say right off the bat that search engines are not the only way to get traffic to our site. There are many other ways, some of which are even more effective.
But the fact is that the vast majority of Web traffic does come from search engines. I've seen surveys quote anywhere from 76 percent to 90 percent. The fact is also that the vast majority of users using a search engine never look beyond the thirtieth listing for any given search term, and many of them never look beyond the first ten. That doesn't mean they're necessarily finding what they want in those first 10 or 30 results, it just means that if they don't, they're not looking any further, usually trying a different search term.
