4.1 Introduction
Wireless media can be shared and any nodes can transmit at any point in time. This could result in possible contention over the common channel. If channel access is probabilistic, then the resultant attainable throughput is low. In an ad hoc wireless network, every node can possibly move, and hence, there is no fixed network node to act as the central controller.
