Hold Yourself Accountable

When it comes to accountability, I’ll always recall my trip as a chaperone to teen students to Toyota City, Japan, in 2013. Over the course of a few weeks prior to leaving, we completed cultural training classes to assist us in preparing for the trip. These classes included guidelines, such as: Whatever you do, don’t lose your passport! This was drilled into us as chaperones, along with the students. Of course, what happened the first day? One of the students misplaced her passport.

As we visited several places to narrow down where it could have been lost, I thought we were in a nightmare or a horrible episode ...
