IBM: The Power of Data-Driven Partnership

Unlike previous chapters, which mainly addressed internal approaches business is taking to affect climate resilience, this one primarily looks at how one company, IBM, is using processes developed internally to work with the public sector on achieving resilience—in this case, a large community affected by Hurricane Sandy.

Until recently, the focus for the private sector has been preparedness for disruptions of climate change, but private and public sector communication, cooperation, and collaboration are essential if we’re to alter our behavior significantly enough to better avert or prepare for risks that can often lead to calamity.
