ADD and Learning Disabilities

Attention Deficit Disorder is very often associated with other types of cognitive or learning difficulties. This chapter discusses ways to both identify and cope with such problems in adulthood.
In the ADD Workplace Questionnaire, you are asked to answer a short list of questions under the heading Related Cognitive Difficulties. Answering “yes” to a number of these problems may be an indication that you are dealing with learning disabilities in addition to attentional problems. The presence of these types of cognitive problems is common among people with ADD.1,2 If they are present, you may benefit from certain types of assistance and from specific types of accommodations on the job.
