Chapter 18. Monitoring System Events and Performance

Monitoring your server is an essential task. You need to monitor it in a number of ways. When you perform automated tasks, you need to ensure the tasks complete as anticipated. You'll also need to check the event logs for events that have occurred on your system. This is one place where using the Event Viewer console is more convenient, but you can also perform the task from the command line when necessary. The goal is to make sure you understand what the system is doing.
