Organizing Shape Layers

A single shape layer can hold a single shape, or hundreds of shapes. Adding multiple shapes to a single layer can help organize your project. For example, an eyeball might be made of a shape for the white, another for the iris, and a third for the pupil. It might be beneficial to put all those shapes into a single layer for ease of organization and animation. Furthermore, you may wish to group the iris and pupil so that they can be controlled by a single Transform control.

Adding a Shape to a Shape Layer

With a shape layer selected, using either the Shape or Pen tool will add a second shape to that layer.
