Setting Up the After Effects Project
- Open After Effects, either from your Applications folder or directly from the Creative Cloud app.
The lessons in this book are constructed with a factory-fresh version of After Effects, meaning that I’ve reset all my preferences and After Effects will operate as if I’m opening it for the first time. While not completely necessary, you may wish to reset your After Effects preferences if you’ve already been tinkering with it and you want to make sure our screens look as similar as possible. To do so, hold down ⌘-opt-shift/Ctrl-Alt-Shift before opening After Effects and while it loads, until prompted to reset your preferences.
