Adding Finesse

You hopefully now have a basic understanding of keyframes. Let’s go ahead and make this animation look a little more interesting, and explore a few more things we can do with keyframes.

Curved Position Paths

The alien flies in a straight line. That’s boring. Let’s turn this line into a curve.

  • Select the first keyframe from either the Composition panel or the timeline. It doesn’t matter what time the playhead is set to.

It might be a little difficult to see, but in the Composition panel you should see a handle sticking out of that keyframe, pointing in the direction of the path.
