Animating Text
Now that we have a text layer, we can animate the letters or words individually. A full description of creating a custom text animation is detailed in chapter 3 of the Compendium. For now, let’s use a preset to make our lives simpler.
The Effects & Presets Panel
After Effects has a number of pre-built animations and effects. These can be accessed in the Effects & Presets panel.
- Open this panel by clicking on its tab in the right side of the interface.
- Unfurl *Animation Presets > Text > Animate In.
- Bring the playhead to the beginning of the timeline.
- Make sure the text layer GROW YOUR 2 is selected.
