Expressions
Expressions are a powerful tool that use a coding language to unlock the full potential of After Effects. If that last sentence made you groan, fear not. There are many ways of making Expressions relatively painless. And if coding is your thing, then get ready for some excitement.
Enable Expressions
I want to add an Expression to the Rotation value of Puppet Pin 1, so it moves with some randomness and I don’t have to keyframe it.
- If you haven’t already, find Fella > Effects > Puppet > Mesh 1 > Deform > Puppet Pin 1 > Rotation in the timeline.
- Hold down opt/Alt and click the Rotation stopwatch.
Holding down opt/Alt and clicking a stopwatch opens the Expression Editor for that parameter.
