Bios

Jeffrey Bardzell, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of HCI/Design and new media at the School of Informatics in Indiana University—Bloomington. He specializes in the aesthetics of software interfaces, amateur multimedia design communities, and digital creativity. His recent work explores the emergence of discourses and professionalization within so-called “amateur” multimedia communities, such as Second Life, Newgrounds, Facebook, and YouTube. Media forms include Flash animation, virtual fashion design, machinima, education, and viral videos.

Bob Flynn is the technology director for a couple niche graduate programs at the Indiana University Kelley School of Business. He is a Certified Advanced ColdFusion developer but does most of his programming ...
