Chapter 10. Constructing Banner Ads and Captioned Videos
Most of the examples in this book use the FLVPlayback components for the heavy lifting of creating server connections, loading Flash Video (FLV) files, and controlling playback. There are projects, though, that require less overhead for video playback, such as a Web site banner ad featuring a short video clip. In the first half of this chapter, you learn how to build a simple yet effective video banner ad without using components. You also learn how to add simple captions below the video area in the banner. In the second half, you continue to learn how to caption video with the new AS3 FLVPlaybackCaptioning component that ships with Flash CS3.
