As the saying goes: “Use the right tool for the right job.” When considering your interactive project or application, you need to have a similar mantra: “Use the right role for the right task.” Roles on a project can cover several different disciplines or activities that are common on interactive projects.

A single person can have multiple roles on a project. This is common with small teams, especially for the solo “jack-of-all trades” that needs to do everything.
