Applying bitmap image filters

Adobe Illustrator includes special-effects filters that you can apply to embedded bitmap images (also known as raster images) for a range of effects.

Filtering a bitmap image

Now you'll apply a filter to the embedded bitmap image of the sky to make it look less like a photo.

1.	In the Layers palette, click the lock icon next to the Photo layer to unlock the layer, letting you modify artwork on that layer.
2.	Click Photo to select the Photo layer. Hold down Alt (Windows) or Option (Mac OS) and click the eye icon in the column to the left of the Photo layer.
