Shearing objects

Now you'll complete the flower with an orange center, scale it, and shear it. Shearing an object slants, or skews, the sides of the object along the axis you specify, keeping opposite sides parallel and making the object nonsymmetrical.

Click the Appearance tab behind the Info palette to bring the Appearance palette to the front of its group. (If the Appearance palette isn't visible on-screen, choose Window > Appearance to display it.) The Appearance palette displays the fill, stroke, effects, and transparency of the last object created. By default the next shape you create will retain all of these attributes. Because the next shape will have different attributes, you will change this default setting.
