Clipping Masks / Draw Inside

A clipping mask in Illustrator is a shape that masks other artwork, making only the artwork inside the shape visible. To understand how a clipping masks works, think of a frame and a painting you want to put in that frame. You choose the frame and mount the artwork from behind the frame to make a clipping group. Once a clipping group is created, accessing the frame or the content, or adding or deleting content to a frame requires a few steps to get into editing mode.
