Some things just don’t belong in a photo. I’m not trying criticize what someone chooses to shoot, or make value judgements about what constitues a “good” image. I’m talking about irritations that are easily removed, such as dust and sensor spots that appear as shadowy blobs, or distracting patches of dirt, detritus, or background people you didn’t notice in the frame when you were capturing the photo.

Lightroom includes tools for dealing with those, as well as the dreaded red eye (and pet eye!). In these cases, we’re not just changing tone or color values—we’re removing pixels and intelligently replacing them.
