Practicing making selections

In this section, you’ll experiment with making selections before you begin working in earnest on your sample files. By working with the tools in a practice session, you’ll understand better how the basic tools work and how to use them.

You’ll also learn about selecting and moving as a two-step process. In Photoshop, you first select the part of an image you want to move with one of the selection tools. After you select it, you can then use another tool to move the selected pixels to another location.
