2 In Photoshop CC it is now possible to edit the Fuzziness and Range values for a Shadows, Midtones or Highlights selection. In this instance I adjusted both sliders to fine-tune the shadows selection. With the selection active, I added a Curves adjustment layer and applied the lightening curve shown here to lighten the shadows.
