Accurate Scans

Some scanners will automatically assign the proper profile to your images. You can find out if your scanner does this by clicking on the black arrow that appears at the bottom of a Photoshop document, or bottom of your screen (Windows in CS) and choosing Document Profile. Then scan an image and see if your scanner's profile is listed at the bottom of the document window. If it is, then there is no reason to assign a profile because it already has the correct one assigned.
