Taking Curves for a Test Drive

Hopefully you now have a better understanding of how the Curves dialog works. So let’s try it out—open an image, choose Image > Adjustments > Curves or press Command/Ctrl-M, and start messing with the curve. Click anywhere on the curve to add a point, and then drag it around to change the shape of the curve. If you want to get rid of a point, drag it off the edge of the grid. You can also click a point and then use the arrow keys on your keyboard to nudge it around the grid. You can even add the Shift key to the arrow keys to nudge in larger increments.

Hold down Option/Alt when choosing Image > Adjustments ...
