Chapter 5. Working with Layers
THE ROMANS HAD A CONCEPT THAT WE SHALL USE TODAY: “Divide and Conquer”. According to this principle, a major challenge can be solved by breaking it down into smaller, more easily manageable components. That’s the general idea behind using layers in Photoshop. By breaking up an image into components, you can control your edits more precisely, protect different parts of the image from editing, and generally make it easier to change your mind later.
