Adobe Photoshop Elements is a powerful program with many commands, which sometimes can be time consuming to access. Most menu commands have a keyboard equivalent, known as a keyboard shortcut, as a quicker alternative to using the mouse. For example, if you want to open a new document in the Editor in Photoshop Elements, you click the File menu, point to New, and then click Blank File, or you can abandon the mouse and press Ctrl+N to use shortcut keys. Using shortcut keys reduces the use of the mouse and speeds up operations.
