And while there will be more on that “A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…” jibber-jabber later in the book, for now, let’s look at transitions as another vital piece of your visual storytelling, much like George Lucas used them effectively in his seminal space opera. That’s not suggesting that bombastic elements between clips are right for your movie. Quite the contrary. But you can make subtler choices than the ones George opted for and make them just as powerful.
