The Tools
So far, we’ve been using the Selection tool (hotkey V). We discussed its powers and limitations in the last chapter—now let’s see what else we’ve got.
The Tools Panel
In the Editing Workspace, the Tools panel sits to the left of the Timeline panel. Here, you’ll find all of Premiere’s tools, most of which can also be accessed with a hotkey.
Also note the small triangle in the bottom-right corner of some tools. This indicates a dropdown menu that displays other tools that are stacked into the same square. Click and hold to see them.
