19.1 Introduction
Platon Scientific high definition (HD) interactive TV, PlatonTV in short, is an interactive Internet Protocol (IP) television service built to provide HD digital content to foster education, facilitate knowledge sharing, and popularize science. It is one of several services offered to the research community by the Platon project through deployment of dedicated infrastructure and applications in PIONIER [1], Polish countrywide broadband optical network.
