The design process
Abstract:
Whether a design is a work of art, intended to provoke a reflection or succession of emotions in the viewer, or an engineering system, intended to meet a technological need, there is a motivation. The existence of this motivation is the fundamental premise on which the ideas set forth in this book are based. The purpose of this chapter is to explore the most basic concepts covered by this statement, and the objective of the later chapters is to develop these concepts in greater depth.
