Reliability-based design

Abstract:

This chapter addresses the approximate calculation of the probability that a functional requirement will exceed a particular acceptance limit. The chapter discusses such calculations in a general way in order to present a set of ideas that are also valid for calculating the probability of failure associated with a certain failure mode for a component.
