Abstract
This chapter provides comprehensive knowledge regarding the application of various virtual digital and information techniques to machining processes and machine tools, and their simulation and visualization. A number of manufacturing concepts used in modern industry, such as Internet-based manufacturing, digital manufacturing, virtual manufacturing and telemanufacturing, are characterized. In particular, architectures of digital manufacturing and virtual manufacturing, along with their practical applications, are presented.
