Working with Fields
So, you no longer need fields for adding document property information to your document. Document Property Quick Parts handle these tasks much more effectively. In fact, document property fields only still exist for use in legacy documents where such Quick Parts are not available.
But, fields in general are still present throughout your Word documents, and they’re as important as ever. A field is, essentially, dynamic text. It’s information stored in your document that displays a result.
