Considerations for Word Templates

When creating content templates for Word, keep the following best practices in mind.

  1. Use the Manage Styles dialog box to hide any styles you don’t want users of the template to access, as well as to prioritize the order in which styles appear in the Styles pane. If your template is set to use a Theme or Quick Style Set specific to your company branding, remember that you can disable Theme or Quick Style Set switching in the Manage Styles dialog box.

  2. Make sure any components that you want to use the applied Document Theme, such as styles or existing template content, are Theme-ready.
