Abstract:
This chapter discusses current and future control technologies for particulates and ash in the power generation sector. Current control technologies addressed include atmospheric pressure systems, which are primarily electrostatic precipitators (mostly dry but to a lesser extent wet) and baghouses, as they are the technology of choice in the power industry. Hybrid systems under development and demonstration are presented. Future control technologies are discussed including pressurized systems such as ceramic and metal filters.
