There have been for rapider advancements in the area of surveying compared to other divisions of civil engineering. In the field of topographic surveying, one notable contribution of electronics has been the total station. With the introduction of GIS, total station and GPS in advanced surveying, the preparation of a map with contour lines has become very simple.
One of the aims of compiling this book is to present the basic aspects and applications of total station and EDM in a comprehensive manner.
Though this book has been prepared with a view to meet the needs of students consequent to the revision of the syllabus for B.Tech (Civil), University of Kerala, it will meet the requirements of all engineers, planners, surveyors, consultants ...
