4 Conclusions and Future Research Paths
In this chapter, we have surveyed the most prominent preference-based MOEAs. Since these search methods are mostly variations of already existing general-purpose MOEAs, we have furnished the necessary algorithmic details of each described work so that the reader could understand how researchers have incorporated the DM's preferences in MOEAs. The main goal of preference incorporation in EMO is to summarize the Pareto front into a ROI, which is in turn a subset of the Pareto frontier, from which the DM selects the solution to realize; thereby facilitating the decision-making task.
