This chapter describes polymer nanocomposites with organic/inorganic network structures: nanocomposite (NC) gels and soft, polymer nanocomposites (M-NCs). NC gels and M-NCs are synthesized by in situ free-radical polymerization in aqueous systems and in the presence of exfoliated clay nanoplatelets.
