Abstract

Silk is referred to as the “queen of textiles” for being a fiber with superior strength coupled with excellent drape, luster, and hand. Silk is also one of the costliest textile fibers. Silk is produced from sericulture activities, which are basically agricultural practices associated with silkworm insect rearing. During the process of sericulture, by-products and wastes are produced in addition to the silk fiber.
