Chapter 3. Managing Footage

As you saw in the previous chapter, the Project panel is essentially a list of all your footage items and compositions. The more complex the project, the lengthier and more unwieldy this list becomes. Fortunately, you can organize and sort what might otherwise become an overwhelming heap of assets using features in the Project panel—which includes several enhancements in After Effects CS4. If an item still isn’t at your fingertips, you can find it with the Project panel’s improved search capabilities.
