Chapter 6. Layer Editing
The term editing, in the sense that film and video makers use it, refers to the order and arrangement of images in time. Implicit in this definition, of course, is the term’s broader meaning: to include some elements while excluding others to achieve a desired aesthetic effect. This chapter focuses on editing the layers of a composition—defining which segments to include and the order in which to present them.
You’ll learn basic editing functions and terms such as In point, Out point, duration, and trimming.
