Chapter 13. Painting on a Layer
Although it appears as a single effect in the layer’s property outline, the Paint effect feels like an entirely separate set of features meriting a chapter of its own. The Tools panel includes several tools devoted to painting: the Brush, the Eraser, and the Clone Stamp. The Paint feature’s numerous options require two specialized panels: the Paint panel and the Brushes panel. With the Brush and Eraser tools, you can simulate handwriting, create hand-drawn graphics, or alter a layer’s alpha channel to create (or fix) a track matte. Or you can make more subtle adjustments to an image with each stroke by using Blending modes. You can also use a Clone Stamp tool to retouch an image or to aid in tasks like wire removal. ...
