Chapter 7. Goal
The Goal practice needs to be enacted from the beginning of the project. A goal is a specific target that must be met. Setting a goal before starting any activity is crucial to evaluating the effectiveness of the practices executed to reach that goal.
Business Value
Goals are key to determining the success or failure of the teams progress. Like retrospectives, goals play a part in all business values. For example, a goal of reducing time to market to six months gives a team a success criterion for their efforts. This, in turn, gives the team members the power to recognize ineffectual practices and enables them to modify such practices accordingly.
