Our primary focus in the previous chapter was the project portfolio and project initiation and selection processes. Now we will turn our attention to another portfolio in the organization: the resource portfolio. The biggest component of a project’s cost is most likely personnel, and it’s an element that is dynamic, variable, and even volatile. This is especially true for the agile workforce. For that reason, in this chapter we’ll discuss various practices for bringing agile talent into the organization and for sharing knowledge among experts of agile practices within the organization.
