The Rules of Regulation
The world of PR is multifaceted even at its most basic. It takes a combination linguist, strategist, and diplomat to navigate the waters of regulation. They’re complex enough in one market, let alone across multiple markets. This is one of the factors that have made the European Union a welcome development, at least for businesses that operate internationally. In principle, companies have to deal with just one set of EU-wide regulations rather than 27 sets of national regulations. (At the time of this writing, immediately after the “Brexit” vote, the number appears to be 27; however, this book will be published before that becomes official.)
