Agile Processes

Introduction

In this chapter, we describe some of the processes typical to Agile project management, namely: Scrum, Extreme Programming (XP), and Disciplined Agile Delivery (DAD). We furthermore describe some Agile limitations.

Agile Scrum

Schwaber and Sutherland developed Scrum in 1995 (Schwaber and Sutherland 2013). The term Scrum comes from rugby and refers to a team that works together to achieve a common goal. Scrum sessions consist of daily small team meetings where each member discusses the previous day’s accomplishments, the objectives for the current period, and addresses emerging issues, which may prevent the achievement of the current goals.
