Impact and Energy Decision Criteria

Description and Rationale

We’ve heard many teams complain about the do-nothing retrospective. Team members generally have little difficulty identifying many things they wish were different in their work environments. They may make a choice based on what seems most important or most effective but fail to follow through. This activity helps to stimulate team members to follow through on action plans by following the energy.

For more on encouraging follow-through after the retrospective is over, see Chapter 12, Catalyzing and Sustaining Change.
