Putting the Principles into Practice

Many practices that increase clarity and certainty make it easier for people to participate. Conversely, many practices that foster greater participation increase certainty and clarity.

We’ve found the following practices greatly bolster the likelihood of an effective retrospective when the team isn’t face-to-face.

Send the Focus and Agenda Ahead of Time

Include any URLs needed (for example, if you’re using a retrospective tool, or if you’re referring to data in an internal system) with the agenda. Make them available in a way that people don’t have to search for them during the session.
